The School Photo Company is a partnership between photographers, Rose O’Brien and Tabytha McCarthy. With 40 years combined experience in the industry. Our commitment is to capture precious memories of children at school, and deliver these images to the families with the highest quality and most professional service possible.
In our work we believe in professional service and the highest standard of photography, paying special attention to detail, and of course, expression. We know that the images we take today, will become a treasured keepsake tomorrow.
At The School Photo Company we use state of the art equipment, and the most advanced photographic processing systems. Our high standards are set to ensure high quality results for our clients to enjoy.
We aim to work together with each school to ensure that school photo day is an easy, fun experience for everyone involved.
Rose O'Brien
Director/ Photography Manager
In 1995 Rose started her career as a photographer with Photo Corporation of Australia. She remained with Photo Corporation for 6 years as a children and family portrait photographer.
Rose was then offered an opportunity to travel between Australia and Asia to photograph university graduates in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong with Southam Studios. During those 5 years Rose worked hard gaining vital experience and knowledge of all aspects of the photography industry, eventually establishing her own business Strike A Pose Photography, which focuses on dance schools and kinder photography.
Tabytha McCarthy
Director/ Operations Manager/ Photographer
In 1994 Tabytha started her career with PixiFoto in Melbourne photographing children throughout shopping centers in and around Melbourne. During Tabytha's time with PixiFoto she helped grow the business and in 2000 became State & Regional Manager of Victoria, Tasmania and Southern NSW.
In 2003 PixiFoto set up a School Photography Division in Melbourne, so Tabytha transferred into the schools division where she continued to build her skills. This role ended when PixiFoto School Photography ceased trading in Victoria, so she went on to work with Rosemary at Strike-a-Pose Photography, as well as running her own business in newborn photography, Bewitching Photography by Tabytha.

We have an amazing talented team. Our photographers pride themselves on getting excellent results. All team members practice in the art of capturing each child's natural individual smile, which is definitely our specialty. The team here at The School Photo Company are all highly skilled photographers, who have worked in the industry capturing children's smiles over the last decade. All team members hold valid working with children cards. We strive to give everyone a fantastic photography experience.
